Vessel thoughts

attoliaI fell asleep with my toddler Thursday night so I had to avoid LJ all day yesterday.
I wasn't too keyed up about this episode, which is probably why I was able to relax and enjoy it. It had the usual collection of WTF stuff:
Lionel's characterization - "My son was raised to be powerful and ruthless and I don't think it is a good thing. It's ok if you decide to kill him."
Martha's continued association with Lionel - "No, I don't trust him, but I'll continue to take favors from him even if it ought to make my constituents turn on me."
Chloe's memory loss - "Yes, Lex saved my life, but now he's just a vessel. Kill him!"
Lex's explanation for his friendship with Clark - "I didn't want to do you, I wanted to be you. Oh, and I never wanted you to save me, that was your idea."
Oddly enough, the parts I enjoyed most were the those I'd hoped they'd never do. I loved the Lexana, how he was honest with her and how she stuck by him. Lana's Clark smackdown was wonderful.
Zod!Lex was so cool. I hate the idea that being evil is something that happens to him rather than something he chooses, so I hope it doesn't last too long, but it was loads of fun to watch. Even if we didn't get Clark kneeling. Maybe next season?
Did super!Lex do even do anything bad before Zod took him over? Other than challenge Clark, who Lana said planned to kill him, he just vanished for a while.

Um, wasn’t that what Tina said about Lana? ;-)
And I am loving the Lexana. It’s exciting to watch because in a few episodes, it has moved forward a lot and it’s moved so much more than the Clana did in 5 years. And with the Zex, a dirty thought just occured to me that Lana ought to keep Zod around as back-up boyfriend.
