For a few seconds I thought they were going to do something really cool: have Clark kill Lionel mistakenly thinking he was the danger, then have Lex, superpowered by the virus/vaccine, be the one to take out Zod, in the process spending his powers, cementing his distrust of aliens and making him committed to gathering the power to defend the world against Clark by whatever means necessary.

Oh well.

I did like Lex's line about Clark barging in and somehow making the other person feel they have to apologize.

The preview for the finale makes it seem as if powers are all Lex needs to really, finally, we mean it this time, turn evil. Is it too much to hope that they give him some decent motivation?
