I loved last nights episode. But I felt dissatisfied with how the last scene between Clark and Lex ended. I does make sense that it played out that way but it left me unsatisfied, especially after Clark stuck by Lex for all the rest of the episode. So I wrote the following ough followup to make me feel better until I get the read the many far superior hiatus fics that will probably be showing up soon.


It was a few minutes before Lex noticed him standing nervously in the doorway. "Clark."

"Lex." He hesitated. "I didn't know Dr. Foster was working for him. I thought she could really help you recover."

Lex attempted a smile. "Sometimes they really are out to get you."

"I'm not."

"I know. I do know that Clark. When I don't, it's the crazy talking, not me."

"How do I get you out of here?"

"You mean aside from breaking through the walls?" He stopped at Clark's shuttered face. "I won't tell, Clark. I'll never tell. Do you think I want you in a place like this? Or Worse?" He looked away. "Besides, by the time they are through with me here, I probably won't even remember. You. Edge. Anything."

Clark straightened up, resolved. "We're leaving. Now."
