Doctor Who: Daleks in Manhatten/Evolution of the Daleks
These episodes were my least favorite so far. The only thing that scared me about the Daleks was the fear that they would turn into emo!human!Daleks that would haunt us for episodes to come. The American setting rang false to me and it jarred to hear people refer to Hooverville as if there was only one. Maybe that is how contemporaries would have referred to it, but it sounded wrong to me. Overall, I was disappointed to have two episodes spent on a plot that just didn't work for me. On the other hand, we're two episodes closer to Jack's return!
SV: Nemesis
This was very good for a post-season 3 episode. But just as with the witch!Lana plot and viable_political_candidate!Johnathan plot, which tainted even the better episodes in their respective seasons, the faked pregnancy retrofit kept me from enjoying this episode as much as I might have. I did like Luthor!Lana, but I have no faith that that part of her character will carry over to other episodes or that she will be held accountable for her actions.
Thoughts on Heroes:
I loved that they could convincingly pull off the Nathan/Sylar trick.
It's not just Hiro who's gotten dark. If Peter is willing to kill lots of guards just to have the fun of a fight, he's gotten pretty callous, too. I'm not sure how I feel about his ending up with Nikki, who is my least favorite character.
